TAKE NOTICE that the regular meeting of the Alloway Township Planning Board scheduled for Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Alloway Township Municipal Building has been cancelled. The Planning Board will next meet on March 13, 2019 as regularly scheduled.

The Planning Board shall have the following powers and duties:
To make, adopt or amend a Master Plan for the physical development of the municipality, including any areas outside its boundaries which, in the Board’s judgment, bear essential relation to the planning of the municipality, in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40:55D-28.
To administer the land subdivision and site plan review and approval provisions of this chapter, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40:55D-1, the Municipal Land Use Law of 1975. To consider and make report to the Township Committee within 35 days on any proposed development regulation or Official Map adoption or amendment referred to it pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-26a and upon other matters specifically referred to the Planning Board pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-26b. To annually participate in the preparation and review of a municipal capital improvements program projected over a term of six years, and amendments thereto, when requested by the Township Committee. To review and approve conditional use applications in accordance with the provisions of Part 2 of this chapter, the Zoning Ordinance, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-67. When reviewing applications for approval of subdivision plats, site plans or conditional uses, to grant approvals, to the same extent and subject to the same restrictions as the Zoning Board of Adjustment, for: [Amended 10-13-1983 by Ord. No. 208] Variances pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-70c. The issuance of building permits in the bed of an officially mapped street, public drainageway, flood control basin or public reserved area pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-34. The issuance of building permits not related to a street pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-36.
The Zoning duties of the Planning Board are:
(1) Hear and decide appeals where it is alleged that there is an error in any order, requirement, decision or refusal made by an administrative officer based on or made in the enforcement of the zoning ordinance; (2) Hear and decide requests for interpretation of the zoning map or ordinance or for decisions upon other special questions upon which such board is authorized to pass by the zoning or official map ordinance; (3) Hear and decide applications for variances from the zoning ordinance as it relates to bulk requirements pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-70(c) or use requirements pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-70(d).
To participate in the preparation and review of programs or plans required by state or federal laws or regulations. To assemble data on a continuing basis as part of a continuous planning process. To perform such other advisory duties as are assigned to it by ordinance or resolution of the Township Committee for the aid and assistance of the Township Committee or other agencies or offices.
